Charlie Adam has handed in a transfer request according to reports, thus clearing the way for a potential move to Liverpool.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been key to Blackpool's success in the their debut season in the Premier League.
Manager Ian Holloway had earlier described three bids for the player from Aston Villa, Birmingham and a £4 million bid from Liverpool, as derisory and rejected them out of hand.
Holloway said: "He has signed a contract and someone can come in, but it's not his choice and it's not their choice. He belongs to us.
"I think he is still improving, and if someone wants to offer money I think they are wasting their time because we don't need to sell him at the moment."
But following Darren Bent's £24m move from Sunderland to the West Midlands, Holloway said Villa were well off the mark in their valuation.

Adam has a clause in his contract entitling him to a 20 per cent of any transfer fee but the former Rangers will now forfeit a £1m bonus after requesting a move from the club.
