Rain frustrates Pakistan

Only 4.2 overs possible in Queenstown

Only 4.2 overs were possible in the second one-day international between New Zealand and Pakistan before play was abandoned.

The match had already been reduced to 48 overs a side after play had been delayed by an hour.

And heavy rain just after the start of the match forced the umpires to abandon play in Queenstown.

Pakistan had made a positive start after being put into bat, with Ahmed Shehzad 25 not out and Mohammad Hafeez and unbeaten on four.

New Zealand lead the six-match series 1-0 with the third in Christchurch on Saturday.
