Test skipper Misbah named as vice-captain
Shahid Afridi has been confirmed as Pakistan's captain for the World Cup.
All-rounder Afridi has been in the job for more than a year and has led Pakistan to a series victory on the current tour of New Zealand.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chose not to name a skipper when submitting their 15-man squad for the forthcoming tournament on the sub-continent.
That led to speculation Test captain Misbah ul-Haq might get the job, but the batsman has instead been appointed as Afridi's deputy.

"PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) announces Afridi as captain of Pakistan team for the World Cup. Misbah has been announced as vice-captain for the event," the PCB said in a statement.
PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said the choice of Afridi as leader had widespread backing.
"I had detailed discussions with team management and players in New Zealand regarding captain and vice captain and am pleased to state that everyone fully endorsed these decisions," Butt said in the statement.
The board also confirmed that Waqar Younis will continue in his role as coach, with Aqib Javed also carrying on as bowling consultant.
Pakistan are in Group A at the World Cup alongside Sri Lanka, where they will also play all their pool matches, defending champions Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Kenya and minnows Canada.
