Hernia problem means Frenchman misses Davis Cup clash
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will miss France's Davis Cup World Group match against Austria next month because of a hernia.
The world number 17 was sidelined for last year's final against Serbia having been out for much of 2010 with a knee injury.
Tsonga had looked to be returning to his best this year but lost in the quarter-finals of the Open 13 in Marseille, and admits the problem has been with him for a while.
"I will have to see how the injury responds to treatment and based on that maybe I will need to have an operation," he said.
"But that would put me out of action for two to three months.
France are already without number one Gael Monfils, who is sidelined for six weeks with a wrist injury.
The tie takes place in Vienna from March 4-6.
