All-rounder rewarded after impressing during trial period
Middlesex have signed former Lancashire and Northamptonshire all-rounder Steven Crook.
The 27-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the county having been on trial at Lord's since the start of the year.
Crook, who was born in Adelaide but holds a British passport, will now begin full-time training in preparation for the 2011 domestic summer.
"Steven has worked exceptionally hard during the sessions he has attended and made a positive impression on the coaches," Middlesex managing director of cricket Angus Fraser told the county's official website.
"He is a talented cricketer who will add to our squad. Middlesex's coaches believe he possesses bags of potential and after a year out of the game his desire to perform is strong.
"He is delighted to be back in cricket and is keen to show everyone what he is capable of producing."
Crook was released by Northamptonshire at the end of the 2009 season having started his career at Old Trafford six years earlier.
