New Zealand fall to two-wicket defeat in fourth ODI
Misbah-ul-Haq smashed an unbeaten 93 from 91 balls to help Pakistan claim a two-wicket victory in the fourth one-day international against New Zealand.
The Black Caps recovered from a shaky start to set a target of 263, with James Franklin (62) and Nathan McCullum (53 not out) the major contributors in Napier.
The momentum went back and forth during the tourists' chase, as Scott Styris kept the pressure on by taking up three wickets.
However, Misbah's heroics eventually proved enough to see Pakistan home and put them 2-1 up with two contests of the six-match series left to play.
At the start of play, New Zealand looked in deep trouble as Martin Guptill (21), Jamie How (13) and Ross Taylor (four) were all skittled within nine overs, with Wahab Riaz grabbing two of those wickets.
The hosts' problems were compounded when Styris was run out for 11, while Mohammad Hafeez claimed the scalp of Kane Williamson (15) to bring the score to 79-5.
Franklin and Brendon McCullum steadied the ship with a sixth-wicket stand of 52, but the latter was removed by Riaz (3-51) after a quick-fire knock of 37.

Franklin went on to reach his half-century, but his innings was brought to an end when Shahid Afridi had him caught by Riaz at backward square leg.
Nathan McCullum hit five fours and a six as he built a 58-run partnership with skipper Daniel Vettori (13no) to take the score to 262-7 after their 50 overs.
Pakistan made an emphatic start as Ahmed Shehzad led the way with six boundaries, but his opening partner Hafeez was caught brilliantly by Taylor for 12 in the ninth over.
After Shahzad had made his 42 in as many balls, two wickets fell in quick succession with Shehzad and Kamran Akmal (20) both lofting simple catches to Taylor off the bowling of Styris (3-40).
Younus Khan and Misbah would then put on 89 for the fourth wicket, with the former being run out left stranded off his crease on 42.
As the required run rate began to increase, the tourists hit more trouble as Vettori (2-48) cheaply removed Umar Akmal (10) and Afridi (four) in the same over.
But Misbah's aggressive play kept them in contention and despite the dismissals of Abdul Razzaq (23) and Riaz (nought), Pakistan eventually sealed the win as Sohail Tanvir (14no) hit three boundaries in the penultimate over.
