Midfielder has appendix surgery
Tottenham have suffered a major blow with the news that Luka Modric is out for two weeks after undergoing appendix surgery.
Modric was forced to undergo surgery to remove the inflamed appendix on Tuesday night.
The operation means Modric will not be able to train for ten days and he faces up to two weeks on the sidelines.
A club statement read: "Luka Modric has undergone surgery to remove his appendix.
"The Croatia midfielder was diagnosed with acute appendicitis after contacting our medical staff complaining of abdominal discomfort.
"He is likely to be sidelined for around two weeks."
Modric will miss Wednesday's clash at Blackburn as well as Bolton's visit to White Hart Lane this weekend.
Spurs will be hoping Modric will be fit in time for the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie with AC Milan on 15th February.
The injury is the latest blow to hit Harry Redknapp's squad with Ledley King, William Gallas, Younes Kaboul Gareth Bale and Tom Huddlestone all sidelined for Spurs.
Michael Dawson is also starting a three-match ban following his sending-off at Fulham leaving Redknapp shorn of a number of his top stars.
