Salzburg coach has had no contact concerning Wolfsburg post
Salzburg coach Huub Stevens has played down speculation linking him with the Wolfsburg post.
The former Schalke, Hertha Berlin and Cologne boss is among the names being linked with the Bundesliga outfit following the sacking of Steve McClaren.
The Dutchman worked with Wolfsburg's managing director Dieter Hoeness at Berlin but insists there has been no contact concerning a reunion at the Wolves.
"There is nothing to say about it because there has not even been an inquiry," the Salzburg manager told Kicker magazine.
Giving best
"I have a contract until 2012 anyway and am giving it my best in Salzburg."
Hoeness last spoke to Stevens more than two months ago and the Dutchman says there was no mention of Wolfsburg.
"He last called me to congratulate me on my birthday, but that was at the end of November," said Stevens.
"We only talked about our families and did not say a word about Wolfsburg."
Pierre Littbarski has been handed a contract until the end of the season at the Bundesliga club and he is also a candidate to keep the job on a full-time basis.
Former Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick and Lucien Favre are also believed to be in the frame for the job.
