Hamburg vs Bayern Munich Preview

Hamburg coach Thorsten Fink is to use the experience he gained from almost a decade as a Bayern Munich player to plot their downfall on Saturday.
Fink was part of the Bayern side which lost the Champions League final against Manchester United in 1999.
He was also part of the side which then bounced back to win the Champions League two years later and it is precisely the way in which he learnt to deal with setbacks that he now wants to use to his advantage tomorrow.
"It was all about being able to put defeats behind you, but then desperately want to win again," explained Fink about a so-called 'Bayern gene'.
"But Bayern did not invent the notion of wanting to win games.
"We want to beat Bayern and then move into a safe, mid-table position."
Hamburg have already bounced back from their first defeat under Fink's command by defeating Hertha Berlin last weekend and that result gives them more belief that they can down Bayern.
"I think we have nothing to lose in this game," he is quoted as saying in the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper.
"Bayern are favourites, but we also have a chance. We want to beat Bayern and I think it is possible to beat them now.
"Gladbach have already shown how it is done and often it comes down to motivation."
Bayern have also recovered from that defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach to defend their place at the top of the Bundesliga with a win over Wolfsburg last weekend.
That was a "step forwards", according to their coach Jupp Heynckes, who expects even more from his side.
"We still have a huge amount of potential for improvement," he said at the pre-match press conference.
"If every player can just go the extra yard, then I think we will play even better and even more successfully.
"I am confident that we can make a start in Hamburg."
Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben have both returned to training after missing a session during the week, leaving Heynckes with only Daniel van Buyten, Diego Contento, Rafinha and Breno currently out of action.
